Rideable or companion-only horses ready for their forever home. Deed of ownership is signed over after the 1‑year inspection.
Horses in this program are either over the age of 20 or younger horses that require special treatment due to a medical condition. DEFHR will conduct annual checks on horses adopted through the Guardian Program and holds the deed for the horse throughout its lifetime. Care expenses incurred by GP horses may qualify for tax deduction (please confirm with your accountant).
