Remember the scraggly young filly that came in October of last year with an embedded halter? Here she is, all grown up and ready to find her person that will continue her training! Blu is a laidback, independent young lady. She has done basic groundwork such as lunging, moving her hindquarters/forequarters, backing, standing tied, trailer loading and getting introduced to sprays and the hose. She is pretty agreeable to new things.

She has helped out with demos for our internship program with leading on both sides at the walk and trot as well as standing still at a distance. She also stands nicely tied to a blocker tie while other horses work around her.

Blu took to getting hosed off like she had done it her whole life and was invested in playing with the water with her muzzle.

She is straightforward to catch in the field and leads without resistance to come into a training session where she doesn’t seem to mind if she is alone or has a buddy to keep her company.

Blu is a responsive, sensitive young one so she will need a person that is experienced raising and starting young horses under saddle. She’s going to make a great partner for someone!

She does have an enlarged left hind fetlock but does not seem to bother her or cause her discomfort in the trot on the lunge line.
