Yemin is the one we’ve all been looking for!

She’s a refined mare with the most beautiful coat and markings. She is sweet, engaging and consistent. She has lovely ground manners which makes her a delight to work around. Yemin is easy to catch, leads like a dream, stands quietly tied for grooming, picking out her feet and for tacking up. She is great for bathing and for the farrier.

Yemin was a Standardbred pacer racehorse in her young days (making over $180,000 in her career) and then she moved on to being a great broodmare and raising some babies. Now she’s ready to focus on herself and find a new family that can dote on her and enjoy casual trail or arena rides. She is straightforward and fun to ride. She has awesome brakes and it takes a little to get her going but once she gets going, her trot is quite nice. She’s been ridden both English and Western and has also done lots of groundwork including obstacle training, long-lining, trailering off-site, done basic liberty work and participated in groundwork classes at DEFHR.

She really seems to enjoy hacking out around the farm where she is very brave about leaving her friends and navigating open field. She was a bit more nervous when we trailered her off-site to try the trails nearby but she tried her very best to understand what it meant to be a trail horse! With more time and hours on the trails, she should turn into a consistent trail partner.

She’s a lead mare and can be pretty bossy towards the other mares, especially during feed time and when she is in her stall, she likes to defend her space. She is very well mannered for people handling her in her stall and in the field.

We would love to find a family for Yemin where she’ll be pampered, fed lots of snacks and enjoy hacking out in the field. She’s very easy to fall for with her brave and beautiful spirit!
