Windsor is a kind, older gentleman who is looking for a final home to be loved and retire. Back in the day, you could see a faint tattoo indicating that he is an off-the-track thoroughbred, but we could never read it. Windsor would have last raced long before the days of microchipping thoroughbreds. Originally coming to DEFHR as a severe neglect case in 2017, Windsor made a full recovery and later went on to be adopted and have a career as a children's horse. Unfortunately, Windsor needed to be returned to DEFHR this year due to life changes of the previous adopter. Windsor has settled back into the routine here, but we are sure he would love to find a quiet place to spend the rest of his days. Estimated to be close to 30-years-old, Windsor's upper arcades are almost all worn down to the gum line, which does prevent him from successfully eating hay/grass. Windsor needs an all palatal diet and is currently eating 4x a day. This kind senior loves to spend time with people and deserves the chance to find a family. He is polite on the ground, sound, barefoot, and just about as gentle as they come. If you can provide a loving home to Windsor, please fill out a horse interest form.
