Vic is bursting full of personality and will bring a lot of joy and laughs to your barn. He is always game for attention from anyone who enters his field and stands well for pampering time. DEFHR volunteers have enjoyed shedding him out this season and he blew off his fuzzy coat and exchanged it for a sleek, shiny coat.

In his evaluation, he showed off his stunning forward thinking trot on the lunge line and his responsiveness to cues clueing us in to the fact that he had previous training. He may be an older gentleman but he is sound and was excited to show that he is still a fancy boy with a big floaty trot.

After his groundwork session and a cool bath, he asked politely if he could be let off the line to go roll in the sand which he did several times and then went to explore the outdoor arena. When he had surveyed the land, he came back to the head trainer and put his nose right on her stomach to say hello and thanks for the good roll!

He can be a tad pushy when he is in a new routine and he does have a spook on him but it is usually in response to sound and he returns to earth very quickly after a jump.

He will continue to stay in work and potentially be re-started under saddle but he is also an senior guy so our guess is that he would love to have a retirement home where he is spoiled rotten.

He does have Cushing’s so we are looking for a home that can monitor and manage him in a way to ensure that he lives a good, long life!
