Tuesday is a classy, intelligent mare with the BEST work ethic which is why it is hard to write this 'available for adoption' announcement. We’ve made the decision to find a home for her that will enjoy working with her on the ground although she has had years of under saddle work while at DEFHR. Our head trainer has thoroughly enjoyed working with ‘Toodles’ over the years and has put a lot of time, love and energy into getting to know her and developing her thoughtfully.

We discovered that Tuesday has kissing spine last year and have been on a journey to ensure that we were doing the right thing by her in the present and also setting her up for her future. We’ve done shockwave treatments, injected her back, put her in hind shoes and rehabbed her slowly back to full work under saddle. Although she has wonderful moments and even good days under saddle, our head trainer has concluded that she is still not 100% comfortable under tack so it would be most beneficial for ‘Toods’ to retire from riding and continue her journey as a phenomenal horse to work with on the ground whether it is long-lining, dabbling in groundwork or continuing her liberty training.

‘Toods’ is an extremely brave horse when it comes to obstacles and she breezes through cowboy curtains, tarps, bridges, jumps, pedestals, flappy things, umbrellas…you name it, she doesn’t bat an eye.

In the field, she does take it upon herself to train the young baby horses in the ways of the world and does tend to stay out of the drama when new mares are introduced to her field. She loves living out 24/7 as she does get claustrophobic when in a stall. She is a cribber and she is currently on regumate as that has helped regulate her when she comes out to work to not be so concerned about what her herdmates are doing.

We know it is a big ask to find a home for a chestnut Thoroughbred mare with someone that loves providing a job for a horse on the ground but we know there is someone out there that will fall in love with ‘Toods’ just like our head trainer has.
