If you're looking for an absolutely stunning horse to add to your herd, look no further than this handsome boy! Origami, lovingly called Yoshi, is a 2010, 17h registered Thoroughbred gelding seeking a home as a non-riding companion. Having only won $4,700 at the track after 5 starts, Yoshi was purchased by his current owner as a 4 year old. After investing a great deal of time into him, they started competing in recognized dressage shows in 2017 and he did very well. However, in 2022 it was discovered that Yoshi had sustained a pelvic injury in the field. After month of rest and rehabilitation, Yoshi was still showing signs of discomfort and kissing spine was then discovered. It was at that point when he was officially retired from riding. He is now looking for a home as a companion, liberty/ground work project, or possibly even trained to drive.

Yoshi's owner lists him as a quirky guy who loves everyone, people and horses. He is very interactive with everyone he meets and loves to play in the field. He even gets along great with dogs, cats, geese and chickens! Yoshi has a deep bond with his herd mates and can become a bit anxious when separated from them. If he is going to be left alone, he does best in a stall.

Speaking of being in a stall, Yoshi absolutely LOVES it when someone is in there with him and will turn into quite the clown! He's been known to carry the muck bucket around, pick up the pitch fork. Maybe he's just trying to help you clean up? Who knows. Either way, it's cute!

Much of Yoshi's rehab consisted of work on the longline and ground driving, and he really seemed to enjoy the work. As a result, his owners is open to considering someone who would want to try training him to drive. His fun personality would probably make him a great ground work, liberty training prospect as well. This boy is smart with a very active brain. Someone willing to think outside the box to give him a job, even though he can't be ridden, would be hugely beneficial for him and fun for his new person as well!

Yoshi is UTD on everything. He can live out 24/7, but should have a way of being slowly introduced to new grass in the spring to make it easier on his tummy. He grows a great winter coat, so only needs a blanket in frigid or nasty weather. This boy is barefoot, bathes, ties, loads and has been clipped once before. He is good with other geldings who will tolerate his funny shenanigans.

If you feel this tall, gorgeous boy could make a wonderful addition to your herd, let us know! Inquire about him today!
