Nicolette is a 2021 unraced Standardbred mare (registered name "Badland's Gold"). She was started under saddle in a professional training program with Advantage Horsemanship with Scott Purdum. Upon returning to DEFHR, Nicolette has been ridden as consistently as the winter weather allows and has been doing SO WELL, even when she has days off in between sessions! Her rides are kept mainly at the walk/trot as we continue to develop her canter and balance on the ground. We think she is just about done growing, which has helped tremendously with her balance and self-carriage. Nicolette was bred to be a pacer, but as she has never been raced, she goes right into a large flowy trot. Nicolette has unlimited potential and can go in any direction! Although green, she has a wonderful head on her shoulders, is a quick learner, and tries hard to please! This lovely mare is going to have an amazing career ahead!
