This approximately 5-year-old grade Welsh-type pony gelding may be small in stature (around 11.1h), but he makes up for it with a whole lot of personality. Purchased at auction in October 2024, Mickey's full history is unknown—but one thing is clear: he’s clever, affectionate, and always thinking… sometimes a little too much for his own good.

Mickey has received about six weeks of professional training and made solid progress with his groundwork. He lunges, picks up all four feet, and has a good start on manners. That said, he’s still very green and currently unstarted under saddle. With consistent work, he should have not trouble at all moving in whatever direction both he and his new owner feel would be best suited for him.

Now for the honest (and slightly entertaining) part—this pony has a bit of a mischievous streak. He’s the type who will absolutely test the rules just to see if they’re still in place today… and maybe tomorrow, too. He can be a little pushy, occasionally onery, and also isn’t quite convinced that the vet is his best friend yet. In short, he’s got opinions—but he’s also very smart, very capable, and very worth it.

With the right training and consistency, this pony has all the makings of something special. His trainer believes he could develop into a fantastic small children’s pony, or a fun and flashy driving/cart pony. He’s already shown promise in both areas—he just needs someone who can guide him, laugh at his antics, and keep him on track.

He’s best suited for an intermediate or experienced handler, or an owner working closely with a trainer—someone who appreciates a pony with personality and sees the value in a rewarding project. His current owner is deeply committed to finding the right fit, with a strong preference for a home that will stay in touch. While his price may be negotiable, a good home is not. Mickey only deserves the best!
