This sweet, gentle giant of a Standardbred has quickly gained a lot of fans and a lot of love from DEFHR staff and volunteers. He is such a good guy with a big heart. He is straight forward and a pleasure to work around. If you are looking for an easy going, low maintenance companion horse, he is at the top of the list! He recently started in our training program with one of our volunteers and he has not put a hoof wrong. He is delightful to lunge and roundpen, being responsive and light without being overly so. He melded right into our gelding herd with minimal drama and it’s like he has been here his whole life in a such a short time. He came in with a mare so he can go out with mares or geldings.

Our vet made a note that he does have iris cysts in both eyes so that does make him mildly nervous in new environments but once he is acclimated, you wouldn’t notice a difference.

We’ve not evaluated him under saddle yet but if he hangs around a little longer, that is the next step for this handsome gelding. If you looking for a gentle, kind friend for your horse(s) at home, you don’t want to miss out on meeting Manny!
