Meet Free for the Ride (aka "Fiona"), a beautiful 2012, 16.3h registered Thoroughbred mare. Due to unforeseen medical issues, Fiona's owner is hoping to find a home where she can be loved and cared for. Fiona is unraced and her owner was told that she was used for foxhunting prior to purchasing her in 2022. It was discovered that Fiona does have Kissing Spine and Pedal Osteitis, so Fiona would be best suited as a non-riding companion horse for an intermediate or above handler.

Fiona is overall good to work around on the ground, but would benefit from a handler with a little more experience and confidence. In typical mare fashion, she likes to test out new handlers to see what she can get away with. So someone who can firmly but fairly reinforce her manners would be best. She is good for the vet and farrier, needles and oral meds. She will stand to be bathed, spray, pick up all four hooves, she cross-ties, and loads.

This girl is a smart cookie! She free lunges and responds to vocal cues/commands. Her owner feels she could be a great horse for someone wanting to do trick or liberty training.

Fiona is UTD on her shots, deworming and farrier. She was last floated in 2023 and currently has no dental issues or concerns. She lives out 24/7 in a mixed herd and typically falls on the dominant end of the herd dynamics.
