Dylan came in as a body condition score of 2 on the Henneke Body Condition Scale from Anne Arundel County in the summer of 2024. During his rehabilitation, one of DEFHR’s rehab interns fell in love with his quirky personality and his boisterous neigh…it is true that every grumpy old man needs a cheerleader in their corner!
Dylan entered our training program and it was obvious that he had been a little trail horse for someone who liked to zoom around the woods. He has been evaluated under saddle and even went on a short trail ride at the local park but we think that with his age and personality; hanging out in the field, eating some good grass and grain with his buddies would be his ideal home. He’s a little guy so he may be up for some short pony rides if you have kids or grandkids that beg you for a ride! He does seem to enjoy when younger volunteers get to lead him in from the field to his stall to eat and to be groomed!
We’ve enjoyed getting to know Dylan, getting a kick out of his personality and how he expresses his thoughts and feelings. He is an older fella but that doesn’t stop him from bebopping around the farm with his little Paso Fino toes.
He does need a home where he can be managed for Cushing’s and be fed a lunch meal as well as he can’t eat hay very well now.
Don’t you want a cute, pocket sized Paso to live in your backyard? Dylan is ready to go!
