Urgently seeking a new home:

Meet Jetterina, affectionately known as "Jet." This 21-year-old, dark bay Thoroughbred mare has a unique story and a gentle soul. A retired racehorse, Jet had a challenging start in life but has been lovingly cared for since 2009. She’s looking for a new home where she can enjoy her golden years with the care and attention she deserves.

Jet is naturally independent, can be nervous in new situations, and is a bit standoffish at first. Still, she is easy to handle and cooperative once she establishes a relationship with you. Over the years, she has proven reliable and easy to work with. In the past, she even participated in a couple of years of light riding with children aged 9–11 at a camp, demonstrating her calm and gentle demeanor when properly supported.

She can be a hard keeper in the winter and does best on soft feed to accommodate her age-related dental needs. During the summer, she thrives on 24/7 turnout with access to quality grazing and currently lives in a herd with other mares. She has a history of front leg ligament and tendon injuries from her racing days but has been sound and comfortable as a companion horse for over a decade.

Jet would thrive in a home that understands her needs as a senior Thoroughbred. She’s an excellent companion horse and could bring joy to someone who appreciates her history and quiet, kind demeanor.
