A variety of educational clinics are available to both novice horse people and those with more experience. Each community education clinic or class provides participants with a better understanding of a single topic related to horse care and ownership.

New Horse Owners Class

This two-day class is perfect for anyone that is, or is thinking of becoming, a new horse owner. Learn all about what it takes to own a horse, from start to finish, so you are prepared and successful.

Topics covered include:

  • Things to consider before getting your first horse
  • Choosing your first horse
  • Routine maintenance requirements (vet, farrier, dental, deworming, etc.)
  • Nutrition
  • Facilities management (pasture maintenance, barn/shelter/fencing considerations, farm layout, etc)
  • Emergencies
  • End-of-life considerations
  • And more!

WHEN: Saturday, October 7th, & Sunday, October 8th, 10am-4pm

FEE: $50.00

LOCATION: Days End Farm Horse Rescue
