If you have kids or grandkids, this is the horse for you! Raven is a 1996, 14.3h Quarter Horse mare who is as laid-back and sweet as can be. She is seeking a new home due to the declining health of her owner of the past 15+ years. Her owner's family has been caring for Raven since her owner has been unable, but really want to see her go to a family that will love her just as much as her owner. Used in the past for trail riding, Raven is now retired but may still be able to handle an occasional pony ride with a small child. She may be a great addition to a small therapeutic program that works primarily with their horses on the ground. She'd also be great for a home with kids or an older owner looking for a mellow horse to handle.

Raven's easy-going temperament is apparent from the moment you meet her. She was easy to catch, halter and lead out of her stall. She stood well for grooming and picked up all four feet with ease, even if she made you do most of the work with her hinds. During our grooming session with her, she either stood quietly and napped, or grazed on some nearby grass. Overall, she appears very healthy, with a great body condition and gleaming coat.

Raven is currently stalled half day and would probably continue to enjoy a stall, at least during the hot days of summer and cold nights of winter. We are told that she has no trouble with eating hay and is maintained on two meals of senior feed per day, with turnout on grass. She's currently kept with other mares and takes a neutral place in the herd. Raven is updated on everything but her teeth and Coggins, which her owner may be willing to do before she heads to her new home.
