Jax is a 2012 off-the-track thoroughbred gelding standing at 15.2hh. He raced from 2015 to 2019 and we do not believe Jax had any training post the track before coming to DEFHR. He has received a full 60 days of retraining from the ground up. Jax is missing his right eye, but this does not affect him one bit! Jax came to DEFHR as a neglect case seized by animal control and already had the eye removed when he came to us, so it is unknown what the cause was for removing it. Jax is going w/t/c nicely and has started pole work and small cross rails. He is a very straightforward guy and is VERY comfortable to ride. His trot reminds his trainer of a quarter horse. Jax can be strong, so he does best with an upper-immediate rider. Recently, he stepped into our volunteer drill team with a 13-year-old rider and Jax took excellent care of her! Finish him your way- Jax will make an excellent partner to dabble in just about anything!
