Macey May is a beautiful 2004, 15.1h registered Quarter Horse mare seeking a new home due to her owner's recent passing. She was purchased by her owners as a foal still at her mother's side in 2004. Raised and trained by her owner, she was eventually used as her owner's primary riding horse. She was ridden Western on the trails around the property. Macey has not been ridden in several years now, so she would currently be best suited for an intermediate or above rider. Once reconditioned and in regular work, she may be suited for an advanced beginner with supervision.

Right away during our visit, we could tell that Macey had a naturally very mellow and easy-going personality. She stood quietly for everything that was done with her. From catching and leading to grooming and picking out feet, she was responsive to her handler and behaved perfectly. She also didn't even flinch when we fly sprayed her - something that hadn't been done in years.

We did not get to observe Macey under saddle during our visit. Trails/Pleasure riding would be best suited for her, since that's all that has been done with her during her lifetime. That being said, she does have a very mellow personality that may make her a great candidate for a therapeutic riding program or a small lesson program.

Macey is a very easy-keeper. She is able to maintain her weight on mostly grass, is barefoot, and able to live outside 24/7. She gets alone well with the other two mares in her herd (Pearl and Blondie, also available through O2O). Macey will need to be updated on farrier, dental, deworming and vaccinations. Her owner is willing to draw a Coggins prior to her moving to her new home.
