Im King (“King”) is a 2012, 15.2h OTTB gelding, with the absolute definition of a puppy dog personality, seeking a companion home. After 13 starts and earnings of $14,154, he was retired from racing in 2017. Persistent back reactiveness prompted his owner to seek veterinary consult and it was discovered that King has kissing spine. The vet did not feel that King would be a candidate for surgery, but the owner is open to applicants who may want to get second opinions. King’s owner is willing to share copies of his radiographs with those interested. All this being said, King would make a fantastic companion horse for any equine.
King is great with kids and is a solid equine citizen. He would probably thrive in a non-riding therapeutic program, as he loves attention, has a kind demeanor, and is well-behaved in a wide range of settings. He’s barefoot, an easy keeper, and currently requires no medication or special treatment to keep him pasture sound and comfortable. He accepts a blanket in the winter with no trouble. He is a mild cribber, and it’s controlled by a collar and full turnout.
