Esmeralda

Breed:

Quarter Horse

Height:

15.1 hh

Gender:

Mare

Color:

Chestnut

Age:

27

Esmeralda was a part of a large horse seizure in St. Mary's County in January 2021. Her condition coming into the rescue was hard to see. She was a body condition score of a 1, covered in fecal material and mud caked on her legs. She had a cyst on the bridge of her nose and she displayed a dull disposition. Fast forward to now! She is a vibrant, gorgeous senior mare who catches everyone's eye with her striking color, notable markings and kind eyes.

Esmeralda may be in her 20’s but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying quiet hacks around the farm or a tad bit of arena work. She would be best suited for a rider that enjoys walking and trotting casually in a field or the arena. She enjoys being ridden in a hackamore and has done well both English and western.

She really loves bath time so if you enjoy the long days of summer, she might just be the girl for you!
